Podium in Val-Saint-Côme

Wow! What a weekend in Val-Saint-Côme in front of my family and friends! First podium in singles!

After two days of training in the Val-Saint-Côme course, I felt better than ever and was ready to perform for my competition on Friday. I ate a good meal and went to bed early after a quick game of NHL on the Xbox with Mik.

It's 4 a.m., I wake up sweating and my stomach is churning. It's food poisoning. I get up and run to the bathroom. From 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., my head isn't too far from the toilet. Luckily, it's an evening event and I'm lucky enough to go back to sleep before qualifying. With nothing in my stomach, I do the bare minimum to keep my energy. I qualify in 3rd place. At this point, given my condition, the result doesn't matter to me. I just focus on doing my best to get down as best I can. Finals run went well and managed to get into the super final. My energy is very low and I have a hard time standing until I enter the starting gate. I hear the crowd roaring at the bottom of the course and then the countdown. I take one last breath and give it my all.

It was a tough weekend for the body, but it paid off. It was an unforgettable evening for me, and I learned a lot from the experience. I'm very grateful to everyone who was there.
